About the role

  • Lead the design and development of network safety-critical software solutions for switch systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and specifications.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of software projects while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Plan and execute Software Development Sprints within an Agile/Scrum framework, ensuring effective team collaboration and timely delivery of software increments.
  • Guide the team in applying program specific Software Development practices in compliance with DO-178C objectives for Design Assurance Level A software.
  • Perform safety reviews in accordance with the program specific process to ensure compliance with ARP4761-based Product Safety Assessment.
  • Establish priorities for software development activities, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Set clear expectations for formally released software deliverables and produce evidence for configuration control and certification.
  • Coordinate with multiple functional groups to ensure successful integration of software functions at the aircraft level and integration with hardware components.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
  • 6+ years of experience in software development and engineering.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as C and Python.
  • Experience with requirements management, configuration control and embedded software development tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of software development lifecycle and methodologies, including Agile and traditional waterfall approaches.
  • Ability to balance programmatic schedules and performance needs with realistic goals for software implementation and documentation maturity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey technical and programmatic information effectively to local and geographically remote teams.
