About the role
- Design, develop, and integrate highly complex Military Avionics systems for several OEM and Operator customers both domestically and internationally.
- Create system solutions that meet the evolving needs of customers.
- Work across disciplines within the Electronic Solutions Engineering organization.
- Drive growth, build exceptional engineering talent, and reach critical business milestones.
- Lead system documents development, including system-level requirements, Interface Control Document, Software Requirements Specification, Software/Systems Test Plan and Procedure, Certification documents.
- Support system validation and verification.
- Support system integration, including issue resolution (e.g. FMEA, RCCA).
- Partner with Project Engineer and Principal Systems Engineer in managing program’s cost, schedule, work breakdown structure, work allocation, planning and coordination.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or similar technical field
- 10 years of experience working on Avionics products particularly Flight Management Systems (FMS), Flight Controls Systems (AFCS), and Communication Management Functions (CMF).
- Direct experience on the C27J platform
- Active security clearance
- Flexibility and availability to travel internationally for extended periods of time
- Advanced knowledge of the systems development lifecycle
- Proven track record developing new or maintaining current FMS, AFCS, or CMF solutions
- Individuals who quickly analyze, incorporate, and apply new information and concepts.
- Ability to adapt to project changes
- Multi-tasker and ability to manage a variety of complicated tasks and people
- Familiarity with military systems and software development standards and requirements
- Familiarity with DO-178/DO-254 and similar design assurance guidelines
- Aerospace engineering experience
- Experience base or ability to engage on legacy software languages such as Ada
- Experience with Matlab/Simulink or other similar modeling tools
