About the role

  • Provide expert-level technical leadership in the design and development of complex engineering projects
  • Act as the subject matter expert and drive technical excellence
  • Collaborate closely with the Engineering Manager
  • Lead low-complexity projects with typically small-sized teams (less than 5 members)
  • Program/project management application skills and business tools/applications to plan/maintain/control resources, risks, and milestones
  • Develop cost, schedule, and risk development and estimation to support existing programs/projects
  • Customer and supplier technical interface

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in technical discipline such as engineering, sciences, technology, or mathematics
  • At least 5 years of Engineering experience in Complex Aerospace Systems.
  • Ability to develop/demonstrate management operating system that facilitates communication
  • Ability to develop/demonstrate leadership skills — specifically decision making, driving results, and bias for action
  • Utilizes Six Sigma and program management tools as appropriate within the Integrated Product Development Systems (IPDS) framework
  • Persuasion to influence others to accept new concepts, practices, and approaches
  • Business acumen – knowledge of current and emerging practices, methods, and information relating to discipline and application within the industry
  • Mechanical/Actuation Systems design and component controller integration
  • Experience with systems requirement flow down
  • Experience developing motor driven actuation systems
  • Experience with systems requirement Validation and Verification (V&V)
  • Experience with Earned Value Measurement System (EVMS)
  • Certification as a Control Account Manager (CAM)
