About the role
- Conduct regular rate indication analyses and make recommendations to the CUO and Underwriting team for rate adjustments
- Analyze loss performance of Honeycomb’s product and make recommendations to drive growth and improve profitability
- Conduct quarterly reserves to develop ultimate loss ratios by line of business
- Act as a liaison to Honeycomb’s capital and reinsurance partners to align profitability performance and goals
- Act as the data owner for the Underwriting team to ensure that the team has high quality data and the right access to drive decisions
- Establish key performance indicators and develop reporting to ensure the health of Honeycomb’s business
- Assist the Underwriting team with product filings to ensure successful rate and product approvals with state Departments of Insurance for admitted products
- Drive business and pricing segmentation initiatives to leverage pricing as a key product differentiator and competitive advantage
Requirements
- 10 years+ of actuarial experience related to pricing or reserving with an insurance carrier or MGA
- Bachelor's degree
- Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) highly preferred
- Excellent analytical skills
- Good presentation skill and the ability to communicate across all levels of the organization
- Ability to distill key actuarial concepts to others in non-technical terms
- Ability to understand the business holistically and think strategically
