About the role

  • Report to the Director, Accounting and collaborate to build a best-in-class accounting function
  • Hands-on and highly visible role with direct responsibility for month-end close procedures, including revenue recognition, cash, accounts payable (A/P), journal entry approvals, financial reporting review, and monthly reconciliations
  • Provide guidance and leadership to direct reports; allocate tasks and drive team performance
  • Assist in managing general accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and the annual audit
  • Establish and assess policies, practices and internal control procedures, and make recommendations for improvements
  • Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Assist with general ledger accounting functions, including journal entry review and approval, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong professional team member relationships
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested
  • Partner with leadership to drive process improvements and automation initiatives, including streamlining financial reporting and month-end close procedures

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; 4+ years of experience in accounting may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with a thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Experience with Netsuite Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) administration and optimization preferred
  • Experience with other ERP systems preferred (AP Automation/Credit Cards/Expense Management/Travel)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including team management, coaching, and conflict resolution skills
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to adapt and pivot quickly in a startup environment
