About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage and oversee a large portfolio of homes held in inventory with full P&L ownership
  • Make reactive and proactive decisions to drive profitability and mitigate inventory losses
  • Own inventory from acquisition approval through final sale across multiple products, regions, and partner relationships
  • Serve as final decision maker on purchase offers and balance inventory risk with revenue and sell-through goals
  • Develop and apply Homeward’s inventory management playbook to address at-risk files
  • Adjust listing strategies to improve performance and reduce days on market
  • Approve renovation, repair, and maintenance spending based on ROI expectations
  • Ensure homes meet listing quality standards before going to market
  • Make pricing and valuation decisions with internal teams
  • Drive conversion through acquisition strategy aligned with business and revenue goals
  • Monitor portfolio risk and intervene with strategic plans when necessary
  • Use financial outcomes and market feedback to inform decisions
  • Collaborate with Sales, Deal Structuring, Finance, and Operations
  • Coach and guide operations partners
  • Ensure execution across acquisition, make-ready, listing, contract, and final sale stages
  • Report directly to the Senior Director of Financial Operations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years of experience, ideally in a startup, fast-paced environment, or real estate industry
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous or uncertain environments and adapt quickly to change
  • Strong understanding of real estate financial outcomes, financial statements, and data-driven decision-making
  • Strategic thinking and strong operational execution
  • Leadership experience unifying and aligning cross-functional teams
  • Strong project and stakeholder management skills
  • Executive presence and exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to identify complex problems, uncover root causes, and develop targeted solutions
  • Familiarity with real estate market trends, risk management strategies, and portfolio optimization across diverse regions
  • Track record of process improvement and scalable operations in high-volume environments
  • Ability to coach and influence partners while maintaining focus on timelines, customer experience, and profitability
