About the role

  • Develop new Homeowners insurance products using contract language, underwriting guidelines, systems/platforms, automation and pricing/predictive analytics
  • Identify potential insurance markets and create strategic plans for market entry
  • Manage the insurance product development lifecycle
  • Improve products to increase profitability, growth and customer experience
  • Monitor product performance including customer and agent satisfaction and financial benefits realization
  • Serve as project lead for implementation of products and services
  • Evaluate profit factors and conduct analysis of performance data to provide product strategy recommendations
  • Develop working relationships with other lines to identify product gaps and opportunities
  • Research and develop concepts for complex new products or services
  • Work with partners in pricing/actuarial, claims to ensure product compliance and financial viability
  • Prepare contract language, develop initial underwriting guidelines, and oversee development of predictive analytics including pricing models
  • Produce detailed competitive research for personal lines products and analyze competitor filings, rate and rule manuals
  • Provide recommendations to leadership to maximize product offerings and geographical areas
  • Ensure product compliance and explain drivers and insights related to competitive position changes

Requirements

  • Strategic thinker who can manage technical aspects of insurance product development
  • High level of analytical skill
  • Experience generating insights and creating cost benefit analysis using performance metrics, customer feedback, market trends, and competitor activities
  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions or service
  • Demonstrated experience performing complex financial, actuarial or business analysis
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of customer, business industry, insurance, underwriting guidelines and risk concepts
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills to review complex products, or lines of business
  • Demonstrated experience making independent decisions
  • Demonstrated experience in project management methodologies, practices, techniques and tools
  • Ability to prepare contract language and develop underwriting guidelines
  • Experience working with pricing/actuarial and claims partners
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%
