About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own identity end-to-end, design and build systems managing user authentication
Lead design of role-based and attribute-based access control (RBAC/ABAC) systems
Design and operate backend systems powering push, email, and in-app notification delivery
Write RFCs, lead technical design reviews, set technical direction
Break down problems, ship with velocity, integrate AI tooling into workflow
Mentor peers, share knowledge, elevate design and code reviews
Collaborate with Product, Security, and feature-domain engineering teams

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of backend engineering experience with meaningful ownership of production systems at scale
Deep expertise in identity systems — authentication protocols (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML)
Experience designing multi-tenant identity models
Hands-on experience building or operating notification infrastructure
Strong command of at least one backend language (Ruby, Go, Python, or similar)
Track record of leading technical design
Active AI fluency using tools like GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or LLM-based assistants
Security-minded by default
Clear, direct communicator
