Assistant Athletic Trainer
Holy Family InstituteAssistant Athletic Trainer providing healthcare to student-athletes at Holy Family University. Responsible for injury prevention, evaluation, and treatment alongside compliance with NCAA standards.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide athletic training coverage at all assigned games, events, and practices
- Primary sport assignments include men’s lacrosse and men’s basketball
- Assist the Head Athletic Trainer with planning, organizing, and directing the use of athletic training clinics
- Provide appropriate HIPAA compliant communication regarding medical conditions to the Head Athletic Trainer
- Maintain accurate records of all athletic injuries on applicable injury tracking software
- Assist student-athletes to safely return to activity after injuries
- Work collaboratively with sports performance staff and coaching staff
- Coordinate care with the team physician and make referrals as necessary
- Remain current with research in sports medicine
- Maintain daily upkeep of the athletic training room and comply with healthcare standards
- Maintain inventory of supplies and place orders as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in athletic training required
- Master’s degree preferred
- Athletic training experience in the collegiate setting preferred
- Previous experience with men’s or boy’s lacrosse is preferred
- Ability to perform comprehensive injury evaluations
- Develop treatment and rehabilitation protocols using evidence-based medicine
- Advanced knowledge of anatomy and physiology
- Proficiency in injury tracking software
- Knowledge of rules and regulations from applicable governing bodies such as the NCAA
- Must have sound independent judgment and ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse population
- Ability to travel with the men’s lacrosse team is required
