About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and implement Azure cloud architectures that ensure scalability, availability, and performance
- Develop and maintain contingency and disaster recovery strategies
- Evaluate and recommend Azure architectural patterns using Terraform, BICEP, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
- Implement and maintain Azure tenant security: baselines, access controls, patching, and vulnerability management
- Ensure compliance with ISO, PCI, GDPR, and FTC Safeguard regulations
- Partner with executives and stakeholders to communicate benefits, risks, and costs of cloud solutions
- Provide expert technical guidance on Azure services, cloud technologies, and industry trends
- Mentor junior engineers and guide Service Delivery teams through documentation and training
- Design and implement automation/orchestration solutions to streamline operations
- Provide expert-level troubleshooting for Azure services
- Maintain uptime through proactive maintenance and structured change management
- Regularly assess existing cloud architectures for optimization, cost savings, and performance
- Stay up to date with emerging Azure features and best practices
- Lead evaluations of new technologies and make recommendations for improvement
- Maintain accurate Azure asset inventories and system baselines
- Define corporate Azure standards and track KPIs (performance, availability, cost)
- Keep documentation current in a central repository
- Participate in strategic planning, roadmap creation, and budgeting for cloud services
- Support after-hours operations as part of an on-call rotation
- Engage in ongoing professional development and training
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
- Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) required
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-303 and AZ-304) a plus
- Knowledge of networking protocols and technologies, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs
- Expert knowledge of native Azure cloud services as well as virtualization and container concepts and technologies
- Advanced proficiency with scripting languages (e.g,. PowerShell, Python) as well as automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
- Proficient in various desktop tools including MS Office Programs (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, SharePoint etc.)
- 5-7 years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing cloud platforms in a large-scale enterprise environment
