About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Review and analyze title insurance commitments, pro formas, endorsements, and final policies
  • Examine title exceptions, easements, covenants, restrictions, liens, encroachments, and other matters affecting title
  • Prepare detailed title summaries, title objection letters, and clearance memoranda
  • Coordinate with title companies to resolve title defects and obtain required endorsements
  • Review ALTA/NSPS land title surveys and related documents
  • Identify and summarize survey matters, including encroachments, boundary issues, access, easements, setbacks, and zoning matters
  • Compare surveys against title commitments to confirm consistency and note discrepancies
  • Assist attorneys in preparing survey objection letters and resolution items
  • Track satisfaction, release, and recording of liens and other title matters
  • Special projects and duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5 - 10 years of experience in commercial real estate, preferably at mid-to-large law firm, with a focus on title and survey review
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong understanding of title insurance, ALTA surveys, and commercial real estate concepts
  • Organizational skills to work independently and meet deadlines in fast-paced, complex transactional environment
  • Communication skills to interact with all levels of internal staff, attorneys, management and external clients of the firm
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills sufficient to make decisions regarding daily work
  • Time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently and accurately
  • Able to work overtime as needed
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Familiar with commercial real estate terminology and tasks.
