About the role
- Develop and execute sophisticated pricing strategies that support the firm's business objectives
- Apply market insight, historical data, and financial analysis to support pricing decisions
- Partner with the Director of Pricing & LPM to evaluate margin performance and identify improvement pricing opportunities
- Serve as the dedicated pricing advisor on the firm's most significant and highest-value client engagements
- Develop bespoke pricing frameworks for matters involving multi-jurisdictional teams or significant deal complexity
- Prepare detailed post-matter financial analyses to capture lessons learned and inform future pricing
- Work directly with partners and practice leaders to understand client objectives and competitive pressures
- Support client pricing discussions and negotiations as needed
- Develop strong, consultative relationships with practice group leaders to anticipate pricing needs
- Maintain a strong knowledge of pricing practices across all firm practices
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- 7+ experience in legal pricing, financial analysis, or a related role within a law firm or professional services environment
- Demonstrated experience pricing complex legal work
- Strong understanding of law firm economics, including rates, leverage, realization, and profitability
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple complex matters simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build credibility with senior attorneys and business stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience supporting high-value, high-visibility matters with significant financial or reputational stakes
- Ability to synthesize large volumes of financial and matter data into actionable insights under tight deadlines
- Strong executive presence and confidence engaging directly with senior partners and C-suite client contacts
- Knowledge of or ability to learn Microsoft Office Suite, or Microsoft 365
