About the role
- Lead marketing annual budget development, quarterly forecasts, and long‑range financial planning
- Build and maintain detailed financial models for marketing initiatives, campaigns, and headcount planning
- Provide variance analysis, performance metrics, and commentary on marketing spend drivers
- Partner with marketing leaders to translate strategic priorities into quantifiable financial plans
- Support marketing finance communications to Firm and section leaders
- Serve as primary finance advisor to Marketing leadership, offering insights on spend optimization and ROI
- Analyze campaign and program performance to recommend resource allocation and cost‑savings opportunities
- Develop dashboards and reports that highlight KPIs, budget utilization, and forecast accuracy
- Own month‑end reporting for the Marketing organization, ensuring accuracy and clear articulation of trends
- Track vendor spend, contract commitments and support the procurement process as needed
- Ensure compliance with internal financial policies, accounting standards, and audit requirements
- Review and approve marketing spend requests, SOWs, and budget transfers
- Partner with Accounting on accruals, reclasses, and reconciliations
- Manage, mentor, and develop junior analysts or finance staff (if applicable)
- Facilitate communication and alignment between Finance, Marketing, Analytics, and Procurement teams
- Lead ad‑hoc financial projects, benchmarking, or scenario analyses as requested by senior leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred
- 7–10+ years of progressive finance experience, ideally supporting Marketing, Sales, or commercial functions
- Knowledge of or ability to learn Microsoft Office Suite, or Microsoft 365
- Strong FP&A capability, including modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Experience with marketing metrics such as, ROI, opportunity conversion, attribution, etc.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to translate financial concepts for non‑financial stakeholders
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with financial systems and BI/reporting tools
