About the role

  • Maintain the security and efficiency of Record Management processes
  • Oversee the storing of information and files in the database
  • Assist in processing incoming information, including sorting and indexing materials for integration into systems or storage areas
  • Assemble, analyze and interpret information to develop actionable steps that will improve processes and optimize results in the Information Governance (IG) Records Department
  • Follow IG Procedures in the disposition of Records
  • Maintain retention schedules and develop strategies for data management
  • Train new staff and periodically re-train existing staff on departmental processes and procedures, including providing guidance and technical assistance
  • Handle sensitive and/or confidential documents
  • Special projects and duties as assigned

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree
  • Strong initiative and the ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
  • Ability to multi-task & prioritize work accordingly
  • Intermediate keyboarding skills (40 accurate words per minute or greater)
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Effective oral communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with firm personnel at all levels with a high degree of professionalism
  • Must have communication, time management, multitasking, and analytical skills
  • Strong computer and database skills
  • A minimum of four (4) years of equivalent work experience in an active records environment is preferred
  • Previous experience with a law firm preferred
