About the role
- Maintain the security and efficiency of Record Management processes
- Oversee the storing of information and files in the database
- Assist in processing incoming information, including sorting and indexing materials for integration into systems or storage areas
- Assemble, analyze and interpret information to develop actionable steps that will improve processes and optimize results in the Information Governance (IG) Records Department
- Follow IG Procedures in the disposition of Records
- Maintain retention schedules and develop strategies for data management
- Train new staff and periodically re-train existing staff on departmental processes and procedures, including providing guidance and technical assistance
- Handle sensitive and/or confidential documents
- Special projects and duties as assigned
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree
- Strong initiative and the ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
- Ability to multi-task & prioritize work accordingly
- Intermediate keyboarding skills (40 accurate words per minute or greater)
- Excellent organizational skills
- Effective oral communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with firm personnel at all levels with a high degree of professionalism
- Must have communication, time management, multitasking, and analytical skills
- Strong computer and database skills
- A minimum of four (4) years of equivalent work experience in an active records environment is preferred
- Previous experience with a law firm preferred
