About the role

  • Use Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to support children and teens in reaching their full potential
  • Work one-on-one with clients in their home, school, or one of the clinics
  • Help clients learn new skills and reduce challenging behaviors using play, routines, and activities
  • Follow a personalized therapy plan created by the clinical team
  • Track progress by taking notes and recording behaviors
  • Encourage independence and build everyday life skills
  • Celebrate client progress and milestones
  • Receive thorough training and support from a multi-disciplinary clinical team
  • Tailor therapy to each client’s unique needs, interests, and goals
  • Sessions primarily 2–4 hours each and appointment-based scheduling
  • Must be available at least 4 days per week, minimum of 15 hours after 3pm
  • Work locations include Glendale CA Region (Burbank or Pasadena Clinic), clients' homes, or community locations
  • Scheduling aims to place clients within 20 miles or 30 minutes of your home to minimize commute time

Requirements

  • A high school grad (or above!) who enjoys working with children
  • At least 6 months of experience—paid or unpaid (volunteer or exposure) —supporting individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Someone energetic, patient, and ready to learn
  • Valid driver’s license, own reliable source of transportation, and active auto insurance
  • Willing to travel locally for sessions with clients (30 minutes or less)
  • Passion for working with children and youth with developmental disabilities
  • Bonus Qualifications: Associate or Bachelor's degree
  • Bonus Qualifications: ABA experience or RBT Certified
  • Bonus Qualifications: Experienced and comfortable managing a wide variety of maladaptive behaviors, ranging from non-compliance, elopement, verbal and physical aggression, self-injurious behaviors, etc.
