About the role
- Use Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to support children and teens in reaching their full potential
- Work one-on-one with clients in home, school, or clinic settings
- Follow a personalized therapy plan created by the clinical team
- Use play, routines, and activities to teach new skills and reduce challenging behaviors
- Track progress by taking notes and recording behaviors
- Encourage independence and build everyday life skills
- Celebrate client progress and wins
- Attend monthly RBT group meetings and ABA student meetings (if applicable)
- Sessions primarily 2–4 hours each; appointment-based scheduling
- Schedule clients within ~20 miles or 30 minutes to minimize commute
- Part-Time role (15–25+ hours per week) with availability requirements after 3pm
Requirements
- A high school grad (or above!) who enjoys working with children
- At least 6 months of experience—paid or unpaid (volunteer or exposure) —supporting individuals with developmental disabilities
- Someone energetic, patient, and ready to learn
- Valid driver’s license, own reliable source of transportation, and active auto insurance
- Willing to travel locally for sessions with clients (30 minutes or less)
- Passion for working with children and youth with developmental disabilities
- Must be available at least 4 days per week, for a minimum of 15 hours after 3pm
- Bonus Qualifications: Associate or Bachelor's degree
- Bonus Qualifications: ABA experience or RBT Certified
- Bonus Qualifications: Experienced and comfortable managing a wide variety of maladaptive behaviors, ranging anywhere from non-compliance, elopement, verbal and physical aggression, self-injurious behaviors, etc.
