About the role
- Use Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to support children and teens in reaching their full potential
- Work one-on-one with clients in their home, school, or clinic settings
- Follow a personalized therapy plan created by the clinical team
- Use play, routines, and activities to teach new skills and reduce challenging behaviors
- Track progress by taking notes and recording behaviors
- Encourage independence and build everyday life skills
- Celebrate client progress and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team
- Attend monthly RBT group meetings and ABA student meetings as applicable
- Provide services primarily in East Los Angeles region with sessions scheduled within ~20 miles or 30 minutes of clinician's home
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 6 months of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities (paid or unpaid)
- Must be able to lift at least 10 pounds, sit, and run as needed
- Valid driver’s license, reliable source of transportation, and active auto insurance
- Must be comfortable commuting 20 miles or 30 minutes to client sessions
- Passion for working with children, youth, and young adults with developmental disabilities
- Must be available at least 4 days per week, for a minimum of 15 hours
- Sessions are primarily 2 - 4 hours each
- Preferred: Associate or bachelor's degree
- Preferred: ABA experience or RBT Certified
- Preferred: CPR certification in both pediatrics and adults
- Preferred: Experience managing maladaptive behaviors including non-compliance, elopement, verbal and physical aggression, self-injurious behaviors
