About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage the firm’s relationship with a major financial services client
- Develop, maintain, and execute strategic client plans
- Identify opportunities to deepen client relationships and expand engagements
- Coordinate client team communications, meetings, agendas, notes, and action items
- Plan and execute client meetings, events, CLE programs, sponsorships, and relationship-building initiatives
- Support panel management and pitch opportunities, including pitch presentations and documents
- Support client service excellence through reporting, feedback, billing, guidelines, conflicts, and operational collaboration
- Develop matter plans with timelines, milestones, budgets, and resource requirements
- Track budgets, deliverables, assumptions, reports, scope changes, and status escalations
- Monitor billing-guideline compliance, invoices, time entries, and new matter openings
- Coordinate with the client’s Billing department to ensure transparency and predictability
- Oversee the firm’s AI engagement with the client, including tool approvals, billing, notifications, time entry, and licensing
- Train internal teams on applicable AI tools and track AI commitments, issues, resolutions, and process improvements
- Coordinate and monitor fee arrangements, supplemental bills, credits, and fee tracking across client projects
- Engage with an internal working group on pricing negotiation
- Participate in the global Responsible Business program
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strategically and commercially minded; able to translate emerging business issues into client-growth opportunities
- Experience coordinating budgets for a multi-matter portfolio and partnering with Finance
- Deep knowledge of law firm management metrics and legal-practice operations
- Familiarity with outside counsel guidelines and timekeeping standards
- Ability to troubleshoot and analyze data
- Pragmatic, diplomatic, and resourceful; able to adapt quickly
- Ability to build strong relationships with lawyers and client contacts at all levels
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills; able to complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision
- Experience working independently and in cross-functional teams
- Proactive and persistent stakeholder engagement with strong follow-through
- Excellent writing and presentation skills with exacting attention to detail
- Advanced Excel skills
- PowerBI or comparable data-analysis tool experience highly desirable
- HighQ Collaborate and Smartsheet or Planner experience highly desirable
- Seven (7)+ years of relevant experience required
- Law firm or similar professional-services experience preferred
- Account management or PMO experience
- Advanced knowledge of project management methodology
- Client-facing project management experience
- Experience with scoping, budgeting, project planning, workflow management, and post-matter reviews
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in marketing, account management, or a related field preferred
- Project management qualification desirable
- Availability for core hours Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with flexibility for additional hours based on business requirements
