About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Project-manage a full spectrum of maintenance activities; routine upkeep, repairs, emergency response, and large capital improvement projects, from kickoff through completion
- Conduct on-site property inspections, meet vendors on location, and troubleshoot issues proactively
- Own and continuously improve SOPs for core maintenance processes to drive a better client experience
- Prepare and present annual budgets for multiple properties to boards of directors
- Produce monthly management reports, site inspection reports, and annual meeting materials
- Lead associations' annual meetings and guide boards toward efficient, well-informed decisions
- Ensure compliance with condominium association governing documents
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships; facilitate competitive bidding as required
- Onboard and manage a growing portfolio of condo association clients
- Serve as the primary point of contact for boards; proactive, clear, and solutions-oriented
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5–7 years of experience in property management, community association management, or a closely related field
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and present financials to boards or senior stakeholders
- Experience managing vendor relationships and competitive bidding processes
- Strong project management skills; ability to juggle multiple properties and timelines simultaneously
- Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets for budgeting and reporting; comfortable with Google Workspace and PowerPoint/Slides
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to be on-call one week per month (rotating emergency phone schedule)
- Must be based in or able to commute to Washington, DC
- Nice to Have: Proficiency with property management software (e.g., AppFolio, Buildium, TOPS, or similar)
- Industry certification (CMCA, AMS, or equivalent)
- Spanish language proficiency
- Personal experience as a homeowner in a condominium association
- Familiarity with the DC-area condominium association legal and compliance landscape
