About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Review medical histories and doctors’ findings for completeness for government medical provider adjudication
Complete technician-level inputs for front-end and back-end management of medical cases
Update and maintain AIMWTS, ECT, PEPP, MEDXS, and ASIMS systems
Apply ICD-10 coding and medical terminology to case files
Track cases through the review process and inform Reserve Medical Units of status changes
Provide written instructions for managing incomplete files
Compile data for final case disposition and execute mail-out actions to members
Prepare recurring reports on processing metrics and data quality
Produce databases, spreadsheets, and graphics for division meetings and training
Provide administrative and technical support to the Aerospace and Operational Medicine Division at HQ AFRC

Requirements

What you’ll need

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in health information management, health sciences, medical administration, healthcare administration, or a related field
Demonstrated experience processing and managing physical exams and medical standards, preferably in a military medical environment or equivalent civilian occupational health setting
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and disorders of body systems
High proficiency with PDF software and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Proficient QWERTY and 9-key typing skills for high-volume data entry
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Must possess or obtain an active favorable Tier 1 (T1) NACI security clearance
Mandatory DoD Cyber Awareness, HIPAA, and Privacy Act training
Must sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement due to access to sensitive medical data
Must be available during core hours of 0900 to 1500 EST, Monday through Friday
Work is performed in unclassified Government facilities
Personnel must display identification badges and name plaques in Government workspaces
