About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Welcomes customers, answers their questions, helps them locate items, and provides advice or recommendations.
Operates scanners, scales, cash registers, and other electronics.
Balances the cash register and generates reports for credit and debit sales.
Accepts payments, ensuring all prices and quantities are accurate and provides a receipt to every customer.
Processing refunds and exchanges, resolves complaints.
Bags or wraps purchases to ensure safe transport.
Follows all store procedures regarding coupons, gift cards, or the purchase of specific items.
Maintains a clean workspace. Responsible for counting the contents of cash register drawer at the end of each shift, maintaining receipts, records, and withdrawals.
May be responsible for checking materials and supplies and reporting when stock is low.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Must apply reasonable judgment and understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions
Ability to stand for long periods of time, must be able to lift up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
Strong communication skills, both oral and written
Reliable transportation and a working telephone
Must be 18 years of age
Six months to one-year experience in a related area preferred.
