About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Welcomes customers, answers their questions, helps them locate items, and provides advice or recommendations.
  • Operates scanners, scales, cash registers, and other electronics.
  • Balances the cash register and generates reports for credit and debit sales.
  • Accepts payments, ensuring all prices and quantities are accurate and provides a receipt to every customer.
  • Processing refunds and exchanges, resolves complaints.
  • Bags or wraps purchases to ensure safe transport.
  • Follows all store procedures regarding coupons, gift cards, or the purchase of specific items.
  • Maintains a clean workspace. Responsible for counting the contents of cash register drawer at the end of each shift, maintaining receipts, records, and withdrawals.
  • May be responsible for checking materials and supplies and reporting when stock is low.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must apply reasonable judgment and understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, must be able to lift up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Reliable transportation and a working telephone
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Six months to one-year experience in a related area preferred.
