Principal Learning Experience Designer, K-8 Math
HMHPrincipal Learning Experience Designer creating high-quality, pedagogically appropriate solutions for K-8 Math at HMH. Leading scrum teams to develop innovative learning designs and advocate for user experience.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Apply relevant experience to plan, develop, and deliver high-quality, clearly written, pedagogically appropriate, digital-first solutions that solve specific market problems shared by teachers and students.
- Lead a collaborative scrum team in solving a variety of demonstrated market problems.
- Leverage data from a variety of sources to nurture innovative thinking across the team to develop best solutions possible.
- Model problem-solving prowess, effective collaboration, and prioritization skills to deliver incremental value to users.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in education, Instructional Design, or a field related to the discipline
- 7–8 years of experience in instructional design for K-8 Math students
- K-8 teaching experience (preferred)
- K-8 digital, supplemental math market experience (Waggle preferred)
- AI usage in content development and process improvement
- 1-2 years of Agile Scrum experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Mastery of generative Ai tools, including Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, etc.
- Scrum team management (preferred)
