About the role

  • Oversee financial operations including accounting, budgeting, cash flow, payroll processing, and cost management
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements
  • Support strategic decision-making and manage financial reporting
  • Manage area-level financial operations ensuring accurate and timely accounting, bookkeeping, and financial reporting
  • Monitor budget performance, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions
  • Assist in cash flow forecasts, prepare funds requests, and manage bank relationships
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements
  • Work closely with Area HR business partner on payroll processing and reconciliation
  • Oversee financial administration of projects ensuring compliance with donor requirements and reporting
  • Assist in developing financial policies, financial systems and process improvements
  • Identify and monitor risk parameters and recommend risk mitigation measures
  • Deliver accurate and timely internal and project financial reporting
  • Coordinate and deliver institutional and project audits

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field (equivalent level)
  • 3–6 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting
  • Strong knowledge of financial management systems, accounting software and MS Office
  • 1–3 years of managerial experience supervising teams and resources
  • Fluent in English
  • Second language Dutch, French and/or Arabic is an asset
