About the role
- Oversee financial operations including accounting, budgeting, cash flow, payroll processing, and cost management
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements
- Support strategic decision-making and manage financial reporting
- Manage area-level financial operations ensuring accurate and timely accounting, bookkeeping, and financial reporting
- Monitor budget performance, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions
- Assist in cash flow forecasts, prepare funds requests, and manage bank relationships
- Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements
- Work closely with Area HR business partner on payroll processing and reconciliation
- Oversee financial administration of projects ensuring compliance with donor requirements and reporting
- Assist in developing financial policies, financial systems and process improvements
- Identify and monitor risk parameters and recommend risk mitigation measures
- Deliver accurate and timely internal and project financial reporting
- Coordinate and deliver institutional and project audits
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field (equivalent level)
- 3–6 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting
- Strong knowledge of financial management systems, accounting software and MS Office
- 1–3 years of managerial experience supervising teams and resources
- Fluent in English
- Second language Dutch, French and/or Arabic is an asset
