About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Administer and operate SQL Server and/or DB2 database environments on cloud providers, ensuring high availability, performance, and continuity of services;
  • Plan, implement, and sustain database solutions in large-scale, high‑criticality enterprise environments;
  • Perform database administration and operational tasks in virtualized environments and cloud platforms;
  • Create, maintain, and debug scripts for automation, administration, and optimization of database environments using ISO SQL and PowerShell, or Perl and Bash;
  • Perform basic administration of the operating systems underlying database environments, including Windows Server and Linux;
  • Implement and consume REST APIs for integration between systems and database services;
  • Use Git-based version control tools for code and configuration management and traceability;
  • Manage containerized environments using Docker or Podman, including creating and maintaining Dockerfiles;
  • Administer and sustain Kubernetes-orchestrated environments, including distributions such as OpenShift, AKS, and Vanilla Kubernetes;
  • Develop programmatic solutions to automate operational and administrative database tasks;
  • Conduct systems analysis focused on requirements gathering, technical documentation, and defining database-related solutions;
  • Execute programmatic operations on Database Management Systems (DBMSs) to drive efficiency, standardization, and automation of processes.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Completed higher education or a specialization with a minimum workload of 360 hours in Information Technology;
  • Technical English proficiency;
  • Solid experience in Information and Communication Technology (ICT);
  • Experience as a Database Administrator in a large company and high-availability environment;
  • Experience administering and operating SQL Server or DB2/Linux hosted on cloud providers, in a large company, virtualized and high-availability environment;
  • Experience operating the DBMS alternative to your primary specialization (SQL Server or DB2);
  • Basic Windows Server administration for SQL Server environments or Linux administration for DB2 environments;
  • Experience writing and debugging ISO SQL and PowerShell scripts, or Perl and Bash;
  • Knowledge of YAML; JSON; REST APIs;
  • Knowledge of Git via command line, including commit, pull, and push;
  • Knowledge of containers using Docker or Podman;
  • Knowledge of Dockerfile;
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes, including OpenShift, AKS, and Vanilla Kubernetes;
  • Knowledge of a programming language;
  • Knowledge of systems analysis with emphasis on requirements and documentation;
  • Knowledge of programmatic operation of Database Management Systems (DBMSs).
