About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Ensure the performance of Smart TV applications by identifying, analyzing, and fixing graphical rendering bottlenecks, FPS drops, and UI freezes;
Ensure correct initialization, playback, decoding, and stream transitions via integration with the Bitmovin Player;
Monitor and optimize the WebGL render tree using @lightningjs/renderer to provide the best browsing and content consumption experience;
Define and implement architectural patterns for frontend applications targeting Smart TV environments;
Lead the configuration and optimization of build tools, using Vite to produce performant bundles compatible with multiple device generations;
Ensure backward compatibility using polyfills, legacy plugins, and other strategies to support legacy devices;
Establish development best practices, including state management patterns, dependency injection, and code organization in SolidJS applications;
Conduct code reviews focused on quality, performance, maintainability, and adherence to defined technical standards;
Collaborate with engineering leadership to produce technical estimates, assess risks, and analyze architectural trade-offs;
Promote continuous evolution of the frontend architecture, aiming for scalability, stability, and application efficiency.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree (completed);
Advanced proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript, using strict mode (strict: true), with experience in advanced typing, generics, enums, and software architecture patterns;
Strong experience developing for Smart TVs — Samsung (Tizen) and LG (webOS);
Deep understanding of Smart TV hardware limitations, including performance optimization, CPU and memory analysis, garbage collection management, and UI development for remote control navigation (D-Pad);
Experience integrating and customizing the Bitmovin Player, including DRM management, playback lifecycle, and media events in Tizen and webOS environments;
Experience configuring and optimizing applications with Vite, including vite-plugin-solid and @vitejs/plugin-legacy for compatibility with legacy TV browsers;
Knowledge of route management using @solidjs/router (HashRouter);
Experience consuming and abstracting RESTful APIs using Axios;
Knowledge of error handling, network resilience, interceptors, and authentication mechanisms such as OAuth and JWT;
Familiarity with the RENative framework for code-sharing strategies across Web, Mobile, and Smart TVs;
Knowledge of React Native, including component architecture, hooks, and state management;
Experience with SolidJS and the Lightning TV ecosystem (solid-js and @lightningtv/solid);
Knowledge of hardware-accelerated graphics rendering using WebGL and @lightningjs/renderer;
Experience with texture management and text rendering in TV applications;
Knowledge of BFF (Backend for Frontend) architecture to optimize data consumption on TV devices;
Basic knowledge of embedded systems architecture, including RAM management, prevention of memory leaks, and concurrency in single-threaded environments.
