About the role

  • Learn the Transformer Bushing design engineering and perform tasks involving design, development, test, installation, and service while working from instructions, drawings, proposals, specifications, Bill of Materials, and other pertinent information.
  • Prepare engineering related documents according to requirements, established formats, and general instructions.
  • You will be coached by a mentor to ensure that specified engineering criteria are suitable for the proposed application and recommend revisions as appropriate.
  • Support in Investigating technical problems and establish procedures and corrective actions to avoid recurrences.
  • Main activities are engineering response to customer focus and commercial orders, product care, and operational troubleshooting.
  • Additionally you will be involved in preparing drawings/specifications, material and design selection, quotations, and obtaining required approvals.
  • Using state-of-the-art CAD, develop 2-D and 3-D models of components and assemblies for prototype, production, and retrofit builds as required.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product design and performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, electromechanical, or mechanical engineering or related field and 2 years of experience; (considering internships and co-ops as well)
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
  • Good knowledge with Pro-E or any 3D CAD modeling software
  • Windchill data management or any PLM software will be plus
  • Interest in the energy and/or manufacturing sectors
  • Self-starter that seeks knowledge outside of the classroom
  • Willingness to stay and work from Alamo, TN ; and/or Raleigh, NC
