About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide hands-on field service support for power transformers, helping customers install, maintain, and restore critical electrical assets.
- Your work will include installation and commissioning, maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and end-of-life services—often performed on-site in challenging field conditions.
- Interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, follow technical manuals, and complete detailed service activities that support equipment reliability and safe operation.
- Work closely with service colleagues and customers to help extend transformer life, improve performance, and support the dependable operation of power grid infrastructure.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
- Associate Degree with 2 years of professional work experience or High School Diploma/GED with 5 years of professional work experience
- Broad knowledge of transformer field service operations and transformer field testing
- Familiarity with transformer installation and assembly, vacuum and oil processing, and internal transformer components
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel up to 85%
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs and climbing ladders
