About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Join Hitachi Energy's field service team, where you'll support transformer technology and grid reliability across the power industry.
Solve technical challenges in electrical substations nationwide while building strong customer relationships.
Work closely with experienced senior technicians, gaining hands-on training and real-world exposure to transformer service, maintenance, and diagnostic work.
Conduct equipment inspections and diagnostic assessments to support preventive maintenance efforts.
Assist in servicing and repairing transformer systems using established processes and tools.
Collaborate with engineering teams, senior field staff, and customers to support maintenance strategies.
Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and internal procedures.

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School Diploma/GED plus 2+ years of professional work experience in technical or mechanical fields.
Relevant military training or experience is considered equivalent and strongly encouraged
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and ability to travel up to 85% nationwide
Physical capability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and perform demanding tasks for extended periods
Comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions for up to 12 hours daily
Class A CDL preferred for operating specialized service vehicles
Welding certification or experience preferred for enhanced field capabilities
Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
