About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare System Requirements Specifications (SyRS) for mechanical components
- Analyze and assess technical proposals from Suppliers
- Prepare and verify mechanical installation/integration drawings/specifications
- Conduct design reviews (both internal and with suppliers) for the assigned work package, under the supervision of relevant Engineering Managers and Project Engineers
- Attend at system stand-alone type test and review of type test reports
- Support manufacturing, testing and validation phases
- Review design documentation with customers and suppliers
- Prepare structural drawings (carbody shell, bogie frames, mechanical components)
- Prepare equipment layout and mechanical routing drawings
- Prepare Bill of Materials (BoM)
- Ensure compliance with input requirements, international railway regulations and standards and project constraints (time, cost, quality)
- Prepare the required documentation for vehicle approval and support the homologation phase
Requirements
What you’ll need- Basic knowledge of mechanical disciplines (installation, interfaces, component design, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of design verification and validation methodologies
- Basic knowledge of mechanical CAD systems (Catia or Creo preferred)
- Basic knowledge of piping systems, fittings and joint design methodologies
- Basic knowledge of noise/vibration modelling and assessment of mechanical components
- Basic knowledge of welded structure design rules and standards (EN 15085)
- Basic knowledge of PLM systems (Windchill preferred)
- Minimum experience (1-2 years) in the Railway sector or in complex industrial environments
- Basic knowledge of main railway regulations and standards
- Basic knowledge of IBM DOORS requirements management tool
- Basic knowledge of engineering processes and railway operations
- Basic knowledge of railway vehicles running dynamics performance assessment
