About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver safe, reliable, and high-quality lifecycle services for high voltage equipment by ensuring optimal performance from installation through to end-of-life.
- Perform installation, testing, and commissioning of HV equipment.
- Execute pre-commissioning checks, functional testing, and energization support.
- Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, and safety procedures.
- Conduct scheduled inspections and condition assessments.
- Perform preventive maintenance activities to maximize asset life and reliability.
- Repair or replace defective components (mechanical, electrical, control).
- Perform emergency breakdown response and restoration activities.
- Carry out root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
- Retrofit and modernization projects for aging HV assets.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Diploma or Degree in Electrical/Power Engineering, or related field is an advantage.
- A-Grade Electrician.
- More than 3 years of experience in HV equipment servicing (OEMs, substations, utilities).
- Strong understanding of high voltage systems and substation operations.
- Hands-on experience with one or more of the following is highly advantageous: AIS/GIS/Hybrid Switchgear, GCB, CTs and VTs and Disconnectors.
- Proficiency in reading electrical drawings and schematics.
- Basic knowledge of digital substation technologies is an advantage.
