About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead cost and value engineering initiatives across new product development and existing portfolio.
- Analyze and optimize cost drivers across system, subsystem, and component levels (BOM, design, sourcing, manufacturing).
- Influence hardware design decisions through active participation in design reviews and trade-off analyses.
- Drive cost reduction through design improvements while maintaining performance, quality, and compliance.
- Collaborate with suppliers and supply chain teams to identify cost-effective sourcing strategies.
- Support manufacturability and industrialization by applying DFM/DFA principles.
- Develop business cases, track savings, and ensure transparent reporting of cost improvements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, standardization, and lifecycle cost optimization.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 5–10 years of experience in hardware development, cost engineering, value engineering, or industrialization.
- Strong knowledge of BOM structures, cost modeling, and target costing methodologies.
- Proven ability to influence design decisions and work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving mindset, and structured approach to work.
- Experience with regulated or safety-critical products is a plus.
