About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support various product stakeholders in all matters related to compliance and sustainability requirements arising from legal regulations and customer requirements
  • Analyze and identify risks and impacts related to product compliance and sustainability
  • Support the analysis of existing products with respect to environmental regulations such as RoHS, REACH, POP, SCIP and CE, with a specific focus on RISL, and evaluate their compliance across the entire product lifecycle in line with relevant directives
  • Support design teams in conducting lifecycle assessments (LCA) for new and existing products to deliver sustainable solutions
  • Advise design teams on the selection of environmentally compliant materials and components
  • Use appropriate tools required to ensure compliance with environmental and sustainability regulations
  • Take responsibility for processing change requests related to environmental and sustainability standards, ensuring that all relevant norms and regulations are considered
  • Prepare and maintain documentation related to environmental compliance and product conformity
  • Coordinate a local team of Engineers for Product Compliance and Sustainability

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Completed degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical, Chemical, or Materials Engineering, preferably with a focus on sustainable materials or energy systems, or a comparable qualification
  • Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations (e.g. Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 – REACH, Directive 2011/65/EU – RoHS) and experience in materials management and product compliance in an environmental protection context
  • Ideally, experience in product sustainability, including Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), and experience working in an agile development environment
  • Understanding of EN 45545 compliance for material selection and design is highly desirable but not mandatory
  • Independent, structured, and self-reliant working style, combined with strong team spirit and open, transparent communication
  • Willingness to work in a global environment and collaborate effectively with international stakeholders
  • Fluent German and English skills, both written and spoken
