About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide hands-on field service support for power transformers
Help customers install, maintain, and restore critical electrical assets
Interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, follow technical manuals
Complete detailed service activities that support equipment reliability and safe operation
Perform on-site and remote service activities including installation, commissioning, maintenance, repairs, upgrades, retrofits, and replacements
Support customer operations by addressing technical issues and anticipating service needs
Read and work from electrical and mechanical drawings, instructions, and technical manuals
Complete internal transformer work such as bushing connections, lead clearance, tapping, crimping, taping, and contoured joints
Repair, re-gasket, assemble, and disassemble transformer equipment as directed
Operate and maintain vacuum oil processing and oil handling equipment with direction
Coordinate logistics for service jobs, including tools, resources, and spare parts

Requirements

What you’ll need

Associate Degree with 2 years of professional work experience or High School Diploma/GED with 5 years of professional work experience
Broad knowledge of transformer field service operations and transformer field testing
Familiarity with transformer installation and assembly, vacuum and oil processing, and internal transformer components
Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel up to 85%
Ability to work outdoors for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs and climbing ladders
