About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the product vision, roadmap, and lifecycle for core storage capabilities and APIs, aligning business objectives with customer needs and long‑term platform strategy
- Define product requirements and success metrics for data path, management plane, and control plane capabilities, translating complex technical concepts into clear, actionable requirements
- Partner closely with engineering, product marketing, and sales teams to prioritize features, make tradeoffs, and deliver high‑quality releases on time
- Lead requirements and prioritization for storage services such as data protection, replication, deduplication, compression, tiering, and availability, ensuring they deliver measurable customer value
- Act as the voice of the customer, incorporating feedback from customers, field teams, support, and partners into the product backlog and roadmap
- Drive API product strategy, ensuring APIs are consistent, well‑documented, easy to consume, and aligned with ecosystem and partner integration needs
- Collaborate with performance and architecture teams to set and validate product‑level performance goals, such as latency, throughput, and scalability targets
- Evaluate market trends, competitive offerings, and emerging technologies in enterprise storage, cloud, and distributed systems to inform product direction
- Support go‑to‑market readiness by contributing to product positioning, technical collateral, feature documentation, and internal enablement
- Clearly communicate product plans, progress, and tradeoffs to stakeholders across engineering, sales, marketing, and leadership
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- 5+ years of experience in product management or technical product ownership, preferably in storage systems, infrastructure software, or cloud platforms
- Strong understanding of enterprise block storage concepts
- Familiarity with storage protocols and interfaces (e.g., SCSI, NVMe, iSCSI, Fibre Channel sufficient to make informed product and prioritization decisions)
- Experience owning or defining APIs as a product, including requirements for RESTful APIs and/or gRPC, versioning, and lifecycle management
- Working knowledge of data protection, replication, availability, and disaster recovery concepts
- Ability to engage deeply with engineering teams on architecture and tradeoffs without being responsible for implementation
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerized environments is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance customer impact, technical constraints, and business priorities
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to influence across functions.
