About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Define and build the AI Center of Competence from the ground up by setting its vision, operating model, governance, engagement framework, and success metrics aligned with HVDC and Hitachi Energy strategy.
- Develop and execute multi-year AI roadmaps that translate business challenges into prioritized, funded AI initiatives delivered from concept to industrialized solutions.
- Mobilize stakeholders, sponsors, and department champions across HVDC to drive organizational alignment, adoption, and trust in AI-driven transformation.
- Identify, structure, and prioritize high-value, measurable AI use cases across HVDC engineering domains such as design, simulation, asset lifecycle, project execution, and knowledge management.
- Build and govern a strong internal and external AI ecosystem including digital teams, technology partners, and research institutions to accelerate innovation and delivery.
- Establish and run robust governance, delivery standards, and performance tracking to ensure AI initiatives are secure, compliant, and deliver measurable business value.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Proven experience in program or portfolio management in complex technical or engineering environments.
- Strong understanding of AI / data / digital transformation concepts (hands-on development not required, but strong conceptual and delivery understanding is essential).
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders across business and technology.
- Strong strategic thinking combined with execution discipline.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience building new structures, processes, or organizations from scratch.
