About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead a software development team of approximately 30 people
- Responsible for competence management, setting strategy, and monitoring progress toward objectives
- Contribute to the creation of project plans covering scope, schedules, effort, costs, and dependencies, in close collaboration with program management
- Ensure technical project milestones are met to achieve goals and exceed customer expectations
- Build trust with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, eliminate non-value-adding activities and blockers, and find creative ways to accelerate project delivery
- Communicate status and critical issues clearly, concisely, and in a timely manner
- Manage issues and risks, develop mitigation plans, and escalate to the appropriate stakeholders when necessary
- Work in the area of safety-critical systems
Requirements
What you’ll need- Technical education, preferably a master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- At least 3 years of experience in technical team leadership in software engineering projects
- Experience in traditional and agile software development, cloud computing, and software integration
- Experience in an industry such as automotive, telecommunications, or process control, as well as knowledge of safety-critical systems—particularly railway signalling systems—are considered advantageous
- Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and delegation skills
- Project management knowledge is considered an advantage
- A positive attitude and perseverance are essential for success in this role
- Competitive mindset with a strong drive to succeed
- Fluent German and good English
