About the role
- Participate in developing sales strategies within account teams by sharing insights into customer priorities and long‑term plans.
- Propose sales targets, support margin growth, and manage structured follow‑up activities to ensure targets are met.
- Support the development and execution of account plans, including relationship strategies, opportunity prioritization, and recovery plans if order shortfalls arise.
- Establish, maintain, and grow customer relationships while serving as a focal point for issue resolution and claims monitoring.
- Plan, facilitate, and conduct customer negotiations to align on needs and expectations.
- Build and share detailed knowledge of customer organizations, purchasing behaviors, decision‑makers, business drivers, and market trends.
- Sell products, solutions, and services with a focus on volume, mix, and profitability targets.
- Monitor competitor activity and support appropriate response strategies to strengthen account positioning.
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Requirements
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 7 years of account management or sales experience (Engineering degree preferred).
- Experience in any combination of Engineering, Project Management, Sales, and/or Marketing.
- Sales or business development experience working with clients in the utilities and/or energy markets a plus.
- Recent experience working with the sales & marketing of Power Transmission and Distribution products (e.g. transformer systems, switchgear, high voltage breakers, etc.).
- Ability to travel 20–30% of the time.
- Sound customer relationship skills, steady analytical capabilities, and solid leadership qualities.
- Ability to evaluate success factors and obstacles, anticipate market changes, and forecast customer buying patterns and product needs.
- Must be based Tulsa, OK or Columbus, OH
