About the role
- Lead technical design and engineering deliverables for substation automation projects
- Configure and test SCADA systems, protective relays, and communication devices
- Perform electrical testing using advanced tools like DOBLE and OMICRON
- Coordinate project activities across design, production, and commissioning phases
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery
- Engage with customers to optimize solutions and maintain high satisfaction
- Support project managers with technical input for proposals and risk assessments
- Drive continuous improvement and share best practices across teams
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 10+ years of experience in substation automation projects
- Strong knowledge of SCADA, protection systems, and communication protocols (Modbus, DNP3, GOOSE)
- Hands-on experience with electrical testing using DOBLE and OMICRON equipment
- Familiarity with utility substation operations and standards
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
