About the role

  • Lead technical design and engineering deliverables for substation automation projects
  • Configure and test SCADA systems, protective relays, and communication devices
  • Perform electrical testing using advanced tools like DOBLE and OMICRON
  • Coordinate project activities across design, production, and commissioning phases
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery
  • Engage with customers to optimize solutions and maintain high satisfaction
  • Support project managers with technical input for proposals and risk assessments
  • Drive continuous improvement and share best practices across teams
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in substation automation projects
  • Strong knowledge of SCADA, protection systems, and communication protocols (Modbus, DNP3, GOOSE)
  • Hands-on experience with electrical testing using DOBLE and OMICRON equipment
  • Familiarity with utility substation operations and standards
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
