About the role

  • Lead the mechanical design and optimization of transformers built for high‑power‑density data center environments
  • Develop cooling concepts and validate thermal performance for forced‑air, oil‑natural, oil‑forced, and hybrid systems
  • Perform mechanical and thermal analyses, including stress, pressure drop, and serviceability evaluations
  • Collaborate with global engineering teams to integrate mechanical systems into complete transformer and substation solutions
  • Participate in customer design reviews and present mechanical concepts and trade‑offs
  • Support issue resolution throughout design, manufacturing, testing, installation, and operation
  • Drive standardization, modularity, and innovation in mechanical design, materials, and cooling technologies
  • Contribute to tender reviews, vendor evaluations, and project execution
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline; Master’s preferred
  • 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience, ideally with power transformers or data center applications
  • Expertise in transformer mechanical systems such as tanks, radiators, piping, and thermal/cooling components
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (e.g., CREO or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of IEEE/IEC transformer standards and customer‑driven requirements
  • Experience working within global, cross‑functional engineering environments
