About the role

  • Provide professional risk and contract management advice and guidance to Sales, Procurement and Project management teams.
  • Responsible for developing risk and contract management strategies for ensuring improved operational results within the Hub.
  • Support process improvements throughout the organization in matters of risk and contract management.
  • Provide Contract management services for select large and complex projects in the Hub Business Unit.
  • Ensure contract management activities are executed in accordance with the relevant Group directives & BU instructions.
  • Protect Hitachi Energy business interests from tender submission to project completion.
  • Prepare and update periodically the Hub Risk Management instruction and governance.
  • Ensure effective risk mitigation by appropriate actions in the tendering phase itself.
  • Ensure development and implementation of a risk mitigation and opportunity plan in cooperation with Project Management ensuring margin improvements during project execution.
  • Optimize the internal workflow, procedures and processes so as to maximize the value of the time spent in Risk Management function by the stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Law preferred, alternatively degree in business administration or engineering with strong and relevant legal /contractual experience.
  • At least 8 years of experience in Risk and Contract Management including strong knowledge of service agreements, engineering or procurement environments.
  • Proven track record of handling projects of varying size and complexity.
  • Experience in drafting different types of contracts: sub-supplier, consortium etc.
  • High-level negotiations: contract administration, claims, change management and sound knowledge of planning and scheduling.
  • Ability to resolve disputes and manage dispute resolution in cooperation with Legal department.
  • Solid understanding of change management, claim management and contract related legal issues during both tender and project phases.
  • Understanding of project planning analysis as well as business acumen, integrity, result oriented approach and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
  • German is an advantage.
  • Site based experience and technical knowledge of electrical products is an added advantage.
