About the role
- Review the state of the art of Power Electronics in the Energy Industry sector.
- Evaluate how Power Electronics could fit in small, medium and large Power Transformers and identify all possibilities of application.
- Define needs and specifications for potential projects.
- Be our speaking voice on these topics for discussions with other groups of Hitachi specialized in power electronics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate power electronics.
- Drive innovation by contributing to technology roadmap and strategy in related field.
- Prepare technical documentation and reports to communicate findings and support knowledge transfer.
- Identify leading third parties in Power Electronics and engage with external stakeholders (customers, universities, research centers) to foster partnerships and promote technical excellence.
- Maintain an overview of intellectual property in your area of expertise and develop strategies for project related IP.
- Identify and manage potential risks associated with R&D projects and contribute to risk management in your organization.
Requirements
- MS degree in Electrical engineering or relevant engineering branch
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Power Electronics in R&D, engineering, or academic research
- Former experience in Solid State Transformers will be valuable
- Ability to effectively use external and internal standards and regulations
- Awareness of intellectual property considerations in the research and development process
- A structured, problem-solving, self-driven, solutions-oriented approach
- Spirit of innovation, out of the box thinking.
- Excellent abilities in teamwork in international teams with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
