About the role
- Take ownership of a robust litigation docket from intake through trial or settlement
- Lead all aspects of personal injury cases including pleadings, motions, discovery, mediations, and trials
- Serve as first-chair trial counsel in jury trials and complex hearings
- Develop and execute litigation strategies while ensuring clients remain informed and supported
- Mentor and collaborate with paralegals, litigation support staff, and junior attorneys
- Handle cases in both state and, if applicable, federal courts
- Attend in-person hearings, depositions, and trials in New York courts as required
Requirements
- Active New York Bar license (required and in good standing)
- 4+ years of personal injury litigation experience, with proven trial success
- Ability to thrive in a high-volume, client-focused practice
- Exceptional advocacy skills both written and oral and strong negotiation ability
- Licensed and prepared to handle in-person court proceedings, depositions, and trials across New York
- Ability to handle cases in state and, if applicable, federal courts
- Preferred: First-chair jury trial experience
- Preferred: Federal court licensure and/or appellate experience
- Preferred: Multi-jurisdiction litigation background
- Preferred: Texas Bar admission (highly desired)
- $150,000 - $180,000/year + performance-based bonus
