About the role
- Lead and manage a diverse caseload of employment law matters, including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour claims, retaliation, and workplace investigations.
- Advise clients both private and public sector on employment compliance, policy development, risk mitigation, and best practices.
- Draft and argue motions, conduct discovery, manage depositions, and prepare cases for trial or resolution.
- Stay current on California and federal labor laws, regulatory developments, and emerging trends that may impact clients.
- Collaborate across teams, balancing autonomy with coordination alongside senior attorneys, support staff, and partners.
- Mentor junior associates and contribute to the firm's legal excellence and knowledge-sharing culture.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years' experience practicing employment law, including a strong track record in litigation defense.
- Exceptional writing and analytical skills you can make complex legal concepts accessible and persuasive.
- Demonstrated success managing multiple active matters while meeting deadlines and billable hour goals.
- Experience working with public entities is advantageous but not essential.
- Active member of the California Bar, in good standing.
