About the role
- Partner with the ownership team to design and execute HR strategies that support business objectives, strengthen workplace culture, and drive retention across all restaurant locations.
- Provide consistent HR support for a geographically dispersed workforce of 600+ employees, ensuring alignment across restaurants while respecting unique operational needs.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor regulations, including California-specific requirements. Manage employee relations issues, investigations, and workers compensation cases, including litigation when necessary.
- Lead and mentor the HR team, fostering professional growth, accountability, and collaboration.
- Oversee recruiting strategies, onboarding, training programs, and succession planning to build a pipeline of talent for both hourly and leadership roles.
- Create and implement HR policies, performance management systems, and employee engagement programs.
- Act as a trusted resource for employees and managers, applying strong interpersonal and mediation skills to resolve conflicts fairly and effectively.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent HR certification strongly preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of HR leadership at the Director level , with a strong HR generalist foundation.
- Proven track record managing HR for multi-unit, hospitality-based organizations with a workforce of 600+ employees.
- Experience with workers compensation case management and litigation .
- Comprehensive knowledge of federal, California, and local employment laws.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
