About the role
- Maintain accurate case files, calendars, and deadlines for active matters.
- Draft pleadings, discovery responses, and demand packages.
- Organize and manage intake data, contracts, and supporting evidence.
- Coordinate communications with clients, counsel, insurers, and agencies.
- Request and track medical records, expert reports, and other documentation.
- File legal documents in compliance with California and federal court requirements.
- Provide timely case updates and status reports to colleagues.
- Safeguard sensitive information and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Work remotely on EST-aligned hours, supporting attorneys and paralegals in legal case operations.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience as a legal assistant, case manager, or paralegal.
- Background in employment law or personal injury matters.
- Proficiency with case management software and legal documentation.
- Knowledge of California and federal court filing procedures.
- Strong English communication skills, written and verbal.
- High organizational skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Commitment to discretion and professional handling of confidential information.
- Bilingual English/Spanish fluency (Nice-to-have).
- Experience with union grievance or arbitration cases (Nice-to-have).
- Exposure to both employment litigation and personal injury cases (Nice-to-have).
- Familiarity with PACER/ECF federal filing systems (Nice-to-have).
