About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assess Hinge Health's current health economics portfolio and prioritize high-impact studies
- Advise Client Success and Commercial teams on positioning ROI evidence in sales conversations
- Lead complex external ROI studies, including vendor negotiation, study design approval, and results presentation
- Own concurrent health economics workstreams across product lines
- Present analyses to health plan C-suite and actuarial teams
- Mentor junior health economists and establish standards for study design, code review, and client communication
- Build advanced analytics infrastructure, including automated claims data pipelines in Databricks
- Define Hinge Health's long-term health economics research strategy
- Lead publication of manuscripts in high-impact journals
- Influence product roadmap decisions through economic analyses
- Advise senior leadership on health economics, value-based contracting, and payer partnerships
Requirements
What you’ll need- PhD in health economics, health services research, or a related field strongly preferred; Master's degree with exceptional applied experience considered
- 6-10 years of experience designing and conducting health economics studies using advanced econometric methods, including causal inference, cost-effectiveness analysis, and budget impact modeling
- 6-10 years of experience working with large-scale claims databases, including commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid data
- Deep knowledge of medical billing, CPT/ICD coding, and health insurance requirements
- Expert-level programming skills in R, SQL, and/or Python
- Track record of building reproducible, scalable analytical pipelines
- Publication record with first-author papers in high-impact peer-reviewed journals
- 3+ years of experience with Databricks, Snowflake, or similar cloud data platforms
- Experience optimizing large-scale data transformations
- Digital health or MSK care expertise
- Experience mentoring junior analysts or economists, including code review and study design feedback
- Proficiency with AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude or GitHub Copilot
- Prior client-facing experience presenting to health plan executives, actuaries, or C-suite leaders
