About the role

  • Build and lead an integrated communications strategy that elevates understanding of Hims & Hers’ medical leadership, research initiatives, and clinical rigor across the healthcare and scientific landscape.
  • Shape compelling narratives that highlight our research partnerships, clinical outcomes, quality & safety practices, and contributions to the broader health ecosystem, making our impact clear to peers, partners, and policymakers.
  • Lead communications around research publications, clinical collaborations, and industry events—from positioning and messaging to media strategy and execution—ensuring consistency across channels.
  • Develop high-impact communications materials including research summaries, whitepapers, press releases, thought-leadership pieces, executive remarks, and industry-facing content.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key journalists at healthcare and medical trade outlets, academic institutions, and healthcare influencers.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the Chief Medical Officer and medical leaders, helping elevate their voices through speaking engagements, op-eds, conference participation, and internal/external storytelling.
  • Collaborate closely with the research and policy teams to translate scientific insights into credible, human stories that advance understanding of our approach to care.

Requirements

  • 8-10 years of experience in healthcare, medical, or research communications—ideally within a fast-paced, innovative, or highly regulated environment.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a scientific discipline
  • Experience engaging with both medical trade and mainstream media, with strong relationships across health, science, and business press.
  • A proven ability to lead strategic communications around research findings, clinical milestones, and executive initiatives, from messaging to publication and amplification.
  • Experience supporting communications in crisis contexts, developing public-facing explanations of complex medical standards.
  • A strong track record of crafting credible, data-driven narratives that build trust among clinicians, researchers, policymakers, and patients alike.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex medical or research topics into clear, accessible messages.
  • Comfort working alongside executives, physicians, researchers, legal, and policy teams to shape sensitive or high-impact communications with precision and credibility.
