About the role
- Support and strengthen a strategy and narrative that increases appreciation for and understanding of Hims & Hers’ unique direct-to-consumer business model, industry expertise, and brand resonance through communications initiatives, press engagement, and content
- Serve as a key team member on announcements, initiatives, and campaigns that promote and protect the company’s reputation, including reactive issues management
- Lead the strategy behind our Comms X handle and develop content that reaches press, investors, and our key stakeholders with consistent, creative storytelling, and critical information during crises
- Draft and refine communications related to regulatory developments, legislative priorities, and consumer safety.
- Develop a range of communication materials including messaging, scripts, press materials, and company presentations in partnership with internal stakeholders.
- Monitor sentiment, media cycles, competitive intelligence, and policy trends to inform strategy and narrative development
Requirements
- 5 years of experience in corporate communications, financial, policy, or crisis communications. Agency experience or in-house experience at a public company is a plus.
- A Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or public relations
- Knowledge of, and comfort with, public policy, as well as experience operating within a regulated industry.
- Experience building relationships with media beyond day-to-day news alerts
- Outstanding and concise written and verbal communication skills
- Comfort working with cross-functional partners across legal, policy, investor relations, clinical, and quality & safety functions
- Proven ability to support fast, high-quality responses to crisis situations as well as looking around corners to reduce risk
- An entrepreneurial spirit and a bias towards action
