About the role
- Develop strategies by understanding customer needs, decision processes, timelines, and competitors.
- Review and respond to leads from various sources, creating technically sound and commercially viable solutions.
- Collaborate with technical and commercial teams to prepare accurate cost estimates and proposals.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure proposals are technically solid and financially accurate.
- Support key accounts and follow up on enquiries to maximize success.
- Build and maintain long-term customer relationships, providing expert technical support.
- Gather market insights, customer feedback, and competitor information to inform strategies.
- Keep the CRM system updated for sales reporting and forecasting.
Requirements
- Hands-on engineering background, preferably in mechanical engineering.
- Problem-solver who enjoys finding solutions in grey areas.
- Capable of building rapport and comfortable meeting new people.
- Able to explain engineering problems clearly and simply.
- Good PC skills, quick to learn new programs and databases.
- Willing to travel within the UK and overseas for customer visits and exhibitions.
- Background in assembly, fitting, project management, or similar roles requiring engineering knowledge and customer service.
