About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide executive leadership for Engineering and Capital Projects across the North America manufacturing network
  • Develop and execute engineering and technical operations strategies supporting business growth, uninterrupted product supply, regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and cost competitiveness
  • Lead large-scale capital investments, including facility expansions, equipment upgrades, automation initiatives, and capacity enhancement projects
  • Manage an annual CAPEX exceeding US$75M, with higher investment levels during expansion and growth periods
  • Oversee facility and equipment lifecycle management, process optimization, reliability, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Lead engineering strategy and execution across all North America manufacturing sites
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and regulatory requirements
  • Establish long-range capital plans supporting growth, productivity, compliance, and business continuity
  • Ensure engineering, validation, maintenance, and technical operations comply with FDA, DEA, OSHA, environmental, legal, and Hikma requirements
  • Lead engineering and technical support for new product introductions, site transfers, technology transfers, and third-party manufacturing initiatives
  • Partner with R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement, Commercial, Quality, and global Engineering teams
  • Provide technical due diligence for business development opportunities, acquisitions, partnerships, and external manufacturing relationships
  • Build and develop high-performing engineering and technical organizations
  • Mentor and coach leaders, and drive succession planning, organizational effectiveness, and employee engagement
  • Collaborate with site leaders, external agencies, contract manufacturers, engineering providers, equipment manufacturers, contractors, suppliers, partners, associations, and consultants
  • Maintain regular, predictable onsite attendance and punctuality
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership within pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Experience managing internal and external personnel
  • Demonstrated experience supporting injectable and oral/solid-dose manufacturing operations
  • Experience establishing strategies and leading Engineering and technical operations organizations
  • Experience leading large-scale capital projects and facility modernization programs
  • Strong understanding of generic pharmaceutical manufacturing environments and cost-competitive operations
  • Experience with combination products
  • Proven knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging technology, engineering, maintenance, and technical operations
  • Strong knowledge of cGMP requirements, validation principles, human factors, quality systems, regulatory expectations, and industrial safety
  • Proven leadership in high-volume manufacturing using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, reliability engineering, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Understanding and planning for scaled operations from R&D to commercialization
  • Demonstrated success improving throughput, asset utilization, OEE, quality, cost efficiency, and material control
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with executive leadership, regulatory agencies, suppliers, customers, and global teams
  • Exceptional leadership, coaching, mentoring, and talent development skills
  • Results-oriented focus on safety, quality, compliance, delivery, and cost performance
  • Expertise in capital project management, facility engineering, asset lifecycle management, and engineering program execution
  • Strong strategic planning, portfolio management, budgeting, capital planning, and resource allocation capabilities
